The Jérôme Lejeune Institute is recognized for its expertise in Down syndrome, but it can also deal with all intellectual disabilities of known or presumed genetic origin.

Williams-Beuren syndrome
Smith-Magenis syndrome
Prader-Willi syndrome
Angelman syndrome

Many other very rare syndromes
Many other intellectual disabilities for which the cause remains unknown but is thought to be probably genetic
For these syndromes, the competence of the Institute:
Covers patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. In 2014, the Institute began pioneering standardized geriatric consultations unique in France.
Concerns intellectual disabilities, but also all the complications associated with them. Indeed, when someone has a genetic disease with intellectual disability, the genetic defect often affects all the cells of the body. This can result in multiple disabilities, complications associated with the principal disability.
